  1. If you only plan to make soft cheeses, the junket rennet might work but it will not work to make harder cheeses. "junket is just a very weak form of rennet, traditionally used to set custards. It is possible to set milk with junket, but it should only really be used for soft cheeses because it just isn’t strong enough to set a firm curd. Vegetable Rennet Tablets are about five times stronger than Junket tablets." See: https://www.culturesforhealth.com/learn/cheese/rennet-popular-coagulants-home-cheese-making/

  2. Recently learned cloves have 22 x more antioxidants than blueberries, cinnamon has 18 x more, oregano has 11 x more and cocoa has 5 x more. So add a little extra spice to your coffee, smoothie, oatmeal, yogurt, salad dressing or pizza to boost your immune system!!

  3. Star Anise is used in Asian soups like Vietnamese Beef Pho. It is also one of the spices in 5 Spice powder which is used in Chinese cooking.

  4. I found 2 boxes of the Junket in the clearance section at our local Fry’s (Kroger affiliate) for $1 so I bought both of them and put them in the freezer.

  5. Nocciolata is a hazelnut spread made by Rigoni d'Asiago, a top organic brand from Italy. High quality ingredients, no GMOs. You should buy their jams and marmalade if you see them! They are scrumptious, no refined sugar and high fruit content. Cheers!

  6. How far from you is this discount store ? Sounds like it might be worth going now & then.
My discount store is 1.5 from me but I go now & then as it is WORTH it ! !

  7. That grape juice is wonderful to make grape jelly with. That's what I make grape jelly with for my children. I spent $7.99 on one bottle. So you really got a good deal!

  8. Thank you for sharing 💕 Good deal for the nutritional yeast I would say for what I know about the American prices. I actually have the exact same bag myself, bought from Vitacost . com and shipped to Norway, and it is a very delicious version of nutritional yeast 😍😋

My first thought when I saw the first small clips from the new discount store was: oh that’s a fancy one, wonder how the prices are? 🤔
It looks really orderly set up, and maybe not so many “get a load of extremely cheap chicken, or some other things, and let the costumer go all wild and it will all be gone in a short time, so no need for putting it nice in the shelf” kind of store. Not saying anything bad, and English is my second language, but as with “regular” store’s, also discount stores have different profiles and set ups and that’s okay, it just looked more expensive, but you got some good deals anyway.

So grateful for you Amanda that show us that you can find great deals everywhere, and sometimes also can buy some extra and that is okay if the budget allows that 🙏🏼😊

    Love from Johanne, Norway 💕

  9. The Everything Seasoning is great on AVACADO TOAST. It's great on a toasted bagel…just sprinkle on the cream cheese. It's yummy on scrambled eggs as well!

  10. Such a blessing to have a day out w the hub and also being able to shop your very own garden! Praise the Lord! Have a blessed weekend!😊

  11. Star anise could be used for mulled wine with some cinnamon sticks in the slow cooker for Christmas time maybe. Love from the U.K. xxxx

  12. Same here on the grapes. It’s my son and mine favorite fruit, so unfortunately I pay whatever for grapes every week 😂 my grapes today were over $7 for the bag, but grapes are the only fruit I “splurge” on , thanks for taking us along and your garden produce is awesome! Nice work ☺️

  13. Good prices on the spices. Where I am in Canada, I find Walmart expensive. Also, are your onions ok? There was a salmonella outbreak in onions from California.

  14. Aldi is the best deal on most produce. 99cents/lb this week there. I bought 2 large bags. My motto to keep grocery budget down–If it's not on sale I don't buy it. We just live without it. 😍
Great prices on those gravy packets. I bought a few at Thanksgiving and hated paying over a dollar a pkg. Lol

  15. I love the Everything Bagel seasoning too! I put Laughing Cow cheese on celery or crackers and sprinkle it on top! Yummy! (Love smoked paprika too! I just found some in our Bi-Lo today for around $2)

  16. I use everything bagel seasoning on bagels, grits, eggs. It would be amazing with cream cheese to make a savory spread for crackers and added to breadcrumbs or panko to add flavor. You can sprinkle it on baked bread, or those Hawaiian hot sandwiches that you bake in the oven and brush with butter. Possibilities are endless, and that stuff is a staple in our house.
